R&D Manager, Forming and 3D Printing

Position description As a R&D Manager, the candidate will be expected to effectively lead cross functional teams by managing others to execute and deliver project objectives. The candidate will be expected to lead R&D projects in the areas of materials processing technology focused on material preparation, forming and post-processing including 3D printing in collaboration with business R&D, manufacturing and marketing teams.  The candidate will lead the team to create and execute project plans, design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings in written and oral formats. Candidate is also expected to play a critical role in proposing projects and programs vital to the R&D direction of the group and in developing the technical competencies of the center. Further the candidate will be responsible for developing direct reports and others within group. Utilizes advanced scientific theory and new technology in innovative research for major impact in the businessess of Saint-Gobain. Provides scientific leadership to associates and colleagues throughout Saint-Gobain. Manages a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented and within budget to meet business and customer objectives. Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.  Insures resources and projects are aligned with strategic focus of the Company.   Utilizes project management tools to manage groups research projects. Takes lead in the hiring and staffing of the teams - insuring that we hire strong skills, both technical and leadership.  Required to develop assigned employees and self to fullest potential.  Viewed as a great leader of people, while maintaining a broad-based knowledge of Company products/processes/technology.  Prepares reviews for business and technical leadership.  Have excellent communications skills - oral and written.  Able to network and communicate technically with internal and external teams, university collaborators and customers and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies and apply these to find solutions/advancements. QUALIFICATIONS PhD with 9+ years experience in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline plus demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments. Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience including but not limited to: demonstration of familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation, IP, Patents and technical documents. Demonstrated ability to lead a broad range of projects across diverse fields of activities, with a structured process. Demonstrated ability to give and receive constructive feedback.  Demonstrates ability to network within and out of group. Respectful communication and ability to collaborate in a team environment required.  Ability to maintain composure and organize teams in high pressure situations. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
