Automation Engineer I

Automation Engineer I The Information Systems Group is responsible to ensure that the manufacturing equipment/systems and Automation systems used in the manufacture, storage, testing, and distribution of Sanofi products are fit for purpose in accordance with Sanofi Corporate standards and industry regulatory requirements. This encompasses work processes that originate with the identification of a new or revised asset, the design, installation, verification and validation of the asset, the maintenance of the asset in its commissioned/qualified/validated state and the retirement of the asset at the end of its life. The Automation Engineer I assist more senior members to ensure reliable operation and implementation of all automation systems for a 24 x 7 commercial manufacturing facility. The work performed by this position typically follows standard practices and/or procedures, and is closely supervised, reviewed, and prioritized by supervisor or more senior engineers. Support the configuration, administration and maintenance activities of the sites manufacturing computer and automation systems, including process control systems, building automation systems, manufacturing execution systems, and data historians - 30% Assist in the design, development, and qualification of automated processes, equipment, and systems - 15% Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, equipment, systems, and infrastructure - 15% Indirectly support operations with troubleshooting and issue resolution with respect to computer and automation systems. The Automation Engineer I assist more senior members to ensure reliable operation and implementation of all automation systems for a 24 x 7 commercial manufacturing facility - 30% The work performed by this position typically follows standard practices and/or procedures, and is closely supervised, reviewed, and prioritized by supervisor or more senior engineers - 10% Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2-4 years OR Master's with 0-2 years of experience in Computer, Science or related technological field OR Minimum 7 years of Engineering or IS experience Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of operations/manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in at least two of the following technologies - Oracle, SQL Server,  Emerson DeltaV, Werum MES or similar process control system or C++ programming tools Understanding to or direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA) preferred. Basic understanding of GMPs as applied to individual equipment or process steps. Allen Bradley PLC, RS3, cGMP experience, computer software validation, computer programming and process experience in a Biopharmaceutical environment. Experience with GAMP Validation experience related to control and computer systems. Ability to effectively and appropriately escalate operational issues Experienced in establishment of safe practices in a CGMP environment Special Working Conditions: Ability to gown and gain entry to manufacturing areas Required to be part of on-call rotation for off-hours manufacturing support job id R2478566
